In India, Vanessa primarily explored the theme of femininity. Vanessa explored Hindu philosophies in relation to corporeality and transcendence.
At the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, she worked with production techniques from the ceramics and glass industries to create objects.
On subsequent travel through northern India, she visited several tantric centers.
Her itinerary included Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Pushkar, Goa, Surat, Jaipur, Ujjain, Khajuraho, Mathura, Agra, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Haridwar, Rishikesh and Delhi.
